The care our son Henry received from Dr Scorrer was fantastic. He was born premature at 3lbs 5oz and had some complications during the first few days of his life. During this time Dr Scorrer was always reassuring and professional, communicating effectively and honestly with us during what was a difficult time. He and his team saved Henry’s life. The care we received when our son was discharged was equally excellent, as Dr Scorrer always took the time to explain or discuss things as we needed/wanted. We were never rushed and he was always really positive about the progress Henry was making. When Henry was ready to be discharged Dr Scorrer continued to be reassuring offering to see us again if we felt we needed it or being able to contact him in the future if we felt the need. In general our experiences of the NHS during our sons first year have been brilliant and Dr Scorrer has been one of the key people for why this has been the case. It is hard to offer any constructive criticism as we always felt happy and confident in our experiences with Dr Scorrer and weren’t left wanting more information or different service etc. Thank you for your excellent care, Christopher and Suzanne Hook (Henry’s parents)

Our daughter was born at 29 weeks and spent 9 weeks in Nicu in QA. Dr Scorrer was kind and understanding, he explained everything in great detail to which we could understand. There’s nothing worse than having to ‘google’ something and finding the worst. Any questions we had, were answered when in Nicu and during any follow up appointments after being discharged home. Dr Scorrer is a credit to QA hospital and we can’t thank you enough for everything you have done for our little girl.

Dr Scorrer has excellent communication skills and had the right balance of being patient-centred and also giving helpful advice.

Dr Scorrer listener closely to our concerns. He always explained everything so clearly and made time for parents when needing answers and generally whenever he was doing a ward round. I always felt complete trust in his decisions and always left the hospital every evening knowing our little one was in the best hands possible.

Dr scorrer is not just your typical consultant that you see and hear about. He's not only knowledgeable he respects his patients and their family. What I liked the most when my son was in nicu was that every time he visited the babies he would greet the parents and he would always explain what he was doing. When I asked him for his opinion about my son or any concerns I had he was very to the Point and reassuring. As for criticism I basically have none! Some doctors need to take a leaf out of his book to be as successful as he is!
